What do you call a lot? If a lot = $100k then yes especially when you consider the housing subsidy given to athletes and translators/tutors. Now I haven’t heard of anyone making $500 or $600k in hoops over there like China has kicked out to a few players (mostly to bring notoriety to their league), but it’s not impossible (although unlikely). The big $ for U.S. athletes and coaches are in baseball. Ignore Shelton & Kent! The Yen is paying north of 80 for $1, but don’t think you can take $10 over to Tokyo and live it big. That city makes Manhattan look like a cheap place to live and the other major cities (where pro teams are) don’t exactly give you big time relief as a move from NYC to Memphis. Remember Japan is the second largest (soon to be third largest) economy in the world with nowhere near our population.
