Is being a porn star in Japan considered to be a good/respected profession?
I'm just curious. I know in the United States if you do porn, your record is pretty much tainted. And if you tell someone thats how you make your money it's kind of looked down upon. Is it different in Japan? Is being a porn actress a respected profession/a good career? (not that its not a good career here) I guess what I'm asking is if you tell someone in Japan that you're in the adult industry will they say "ohh, good for you!"?

Depends where you stand and the family's opoion on porn I know its strange but some people not only in Japan think if it pays good they dont care about the image its horrible yes but its there way not mine

noooo...it'd be really frowned upon in Japan. its all about respect in Japan. everything is done with respect...even passing a cup over to someone. being in the porn business is something thats looked down upon in every country i think. its not really an ideal job, its something people do if they have more beauty than brains and a quick fix to get some money.

My guess, it all depends on where in Japan you go, and who you tell. I would imagine you're gonna get a little of both. Some ppl like porn, and some ppl hate it. just depends on who u tell.

Japanese respects peopels privacy in General even if they are pornstars. We usually dont dwell into peoples personal lives or invade their space. we usually keep to ourselves
