2 :
I would donate the money, you won't regret it. and you may eventually regret the tattoo.
3 :
It's good to know that you want to help. I would donate it because $200 can do a lot. It may not seem a lot but disasters like this even pennies are useful. You don't have to spend all of that money also. If you can come up with $200 in 8 months then donate now. It's really your choice.

What is the most RELIABLE fund that is helping with Japan relief?

What is the most RELIABLE fund that is helping with Japan relief?
honestly i think some programs use it to make money off of it. Just like the Bush and Clinton program for last year for some relief. I thought to myself, "Do these greedy people who support war really trying to help the people?" I want to donate to a relief fund i can trust like if wikipedia or craigslist held a fund. Please help. Its not a lot of money im donating but i figure something is better then nothing! Also a fund where i can maybe donate old cloths and canned foods maybe? Thanks!

I donated to Dog Bless You Foundation. They rescue dogs from shelters and train them to assist firefighters and others searching for humans in disasters all over the world. It sounded to me as a way to help both animals and people.

Do Japan really need the money?

Do Japan really need the money?
I just looked at the world rankings of how rich countries are. Japan have about 3 trillion more than us (in U.S$). Why are people giving them so much money, if they have enough anyway? Surely it'd be better to start making iodine capsules or something... Or give the money to a nation in poverty? Their wealth wasn't 'destroyed'. I'm only 17, and I know that's ridiculous... and I take it that the blind statements have some backed up evidence? I'd like to think that people aren't just donating to make themselves feel better.

Their wealth was destroyed.
3 :
Yeah
4 :
No they don't need. Other countries are so poor that people die of hunger or poisoned water, and we give our money to a country that's full of skyscrapers and video games.
5 :
japan has multinational corporation and third world do not.
6 :
I think what it is, is that because of the high standard of life in Japan they receive more money to get back to that standard of life. Also, because of the multiple disasters happening in such a small space of time, people want to give more money. So while they may not need as much money as say Haiti did, they do need some help. I'm not 100% sure, but I think their economy wasn't at its best before the earthquake and its getting even weaker now because of it.
7 :
hopefully people are giving money to the red cross and not just japan. even if they didn't we have so much debit to china already. however, ether way its not really about who has more or I'm better then you kinda thing its more about wanting to help out in anyway possible and the best and easiest way most people in america know is to donate money. a lot of people aren't going to look into what they really can do to help and just donate and then theres also people who do it for image. ether way, cut em all slack. they are doin the best they can.

1 Japanese Yen = $0.11 $1 gets you about 88 JPY
2 :
If you want to buy something in Japan, You have to buy it in Yen, unless you can get on A U.S. military base like the one in Yokosuka where I live. The Yen rate is about 88Yen to one dollar right now.
3 :
Dollars to yen, you lose money.
4 :
1 yen is about 0.010212 U.S. dollars. Google has a money converter where you can convert Yen to Dollar or Dollar to Yen. You lose money.
5 :
Of course you lose money if you convert the dollar.
6 :
Technically you always lose money when you convert because they take a certain percentage when they change it for you.

2 :
Will first off, they do know that US has a lot of fans that are willing to spend huge amounts of money on cards. That is why pot of duality is a secret rare in the tcg and a common in the ocg. What you got to understand is Konami first has to make sure that when the cards get printed in the tcg they are not inappropriate for a younger audience. So they change the names and image of some cards. This takes up some time of course. After that they translate the cards which takes more time. Then its time to print the cards and that takes the most time. You see in order to have the packs drop simultaneously around the world you have to print so many cards. Think about it, Hundreds of millions for yugioh cards, that takes a lot of time to print, dude.

so i guess they also faked the thousands of people they had working and getting paid to check people for radiation? and faked evacuating american citizens? and somehow they talked all of our American soldiers that are based in Japan to lie to their worried families back home? OH!, and i'm sure they spent a lot of time faking deaths all around japan. don't turn a terrible tragedy into a joke. Also, donations are not made and handed over to them. They send U.S citizens over there, along with their workers to rebuild, clean the cities, and help the harmed. There is no money transaction, the donations pay for the repairs straight from the fund. Plus, the majority of Japans national income is from America. Almost all of our imports come from them and china, so this post is not logical what so ever. Not only has this earthquake, tsunami, and serious radiation problem cost them billions of dollars, they have lost a large portion of their yearly production.

Is it possible to find some kind of illegal work in Japan?

Is it possible to find some kind of illegal work in Japan?
I know what most people are going to tell me about this, but I'm about to start a sabathic holiday, and Japan is one of my favorite places. I also know the yen is pretty high right now, and I don't have enough money, or wouldn't want to use it up in the six months of visa I can get. My goal is not to go and make money, if you know what I mean. I want to go and study some Japanese (got level 2), while I do something that can help me with the rent. Don't want to come back home without any cash on me. Please answer only if your answer is a positive one. Thanks a lot. This is so funny. First. I'm not American, English, Canadian, Australian or European, so I can NOT get a working visa. Second, I have no career, so being hired by a company is impossible Third. My passport gives me 90+90 days of stay in Japan. Find out what it is. I'm not telling you prejudicious minds. And last, but not least, I AM NOT A CRIMINAL OK? Ha, ha. This is funny. Think I'd be making this kind of questions here? Get away from that xbox game console you guys! You have polluted thoughts So, here I go again, to the next answerer. Do you know of someone who could employ a foreigner in Japan without a working visa for 180 days? A restaurant, school, construction company, a factory, etc? Hope I'm not being BLATANT (good word) about my personal interests. So, if you DO NOT KNOW, make points answering other questions, please. Sorry for the missunderstandings.

be a man ho!!!
2 :
Please do not come to Japan!
3 :
The only positive answer is that you'd better skip to fly over to Japan. You can study some Japanese at everywhere in the world.
4 :
Why look for an illegal job when you can do it legally? Try working holiday visa if you are from Britain or some other countries that allow you to do so. Otherwise, enroll in a Japanese language school and get a student visa. Either way you can work part time.
5 :
Check with Neal Bush. He work for organized crime in Japan.
6 :
Why bother with illegal options when you haven't checked out legal ones? Why not advertise yourself as an English language tutor- you could probably make good money doing that. Not to mention, it would look good on a resume and you could probably learn some Japanese in the process.
7 :
why illegal work? just get a good honest job while your there. you have fun with that...
8 :
be a hooker
9 :
To be honest, a "positive answer" is one that suggests you NOT do illegal work. Answerers are actually not allowed to give information regarding illegal activities, and your question is a violation of Yahoo's guidelines, since you have quite BLATANTLY asked to do something illegal. If you are going to get involved in illegal activities without getting arrested, you're going to need to be more intelligent. If you have to ask on Yahoo!Answers, then I don't think you're cut out for it... (as an honest answer, I think most of the illegally employed people in Japan ARE prostitutes and bar hostesses, mostly from the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries. Not sure how many males they have/want, but the sex industry has a lot of illegals (and trafficked people). I have no advice on where the best place to go would be, though.)
10 :
Six months of Visa you can get? What does that mean? Sounds like you come from a country that offers a Working Holiday Visa where you can work legally. But don't expect to be going home with any money. You *might* make enough to break even or scape by. Why look at illegal work when you need to explore legal work options. A foreigner poking around in the illegal area is going to stick out with authorities.
11 :
Es posible pero al mismo tiempo es muy peligroso. Si tu vas a hacerlo, se puede bien que sea tu ultima vez en Japon. Que lastima, no?
12 :
WTF is wrong with you dude ? If you get caught in Japan (which you will), they will lock you up and throw away the key! Japanese dont really like foreigners, and they CERTAINLY will not like you! Why the hell dont you wanna work legally ? DONT GO TO JAPAN! WE DONT NEED CRIMINALS LIKE YOU! Get a job , faggit
13 :
Japan is not like the US or some other countries where illegal immigrants can easily find work under the table. Japan is extremely strict about checking up on visas. Even to wash dishes, scrub toilets, or dance naked in a strip club, the employer must be extremely careful to hire only those with valid visas. The Japanese government routinely sends agents who are specifically looking for illegal workers. If that fact hasn't sunk in yet, consider this: The Japanese Yakuza (mafia) who deal in illegal drugs and human trafficking (sex slaves) ALWAYS get work visas for the women (not a visa for prostitution obviously, usually "Entertainer", but they all have valid visas). Think about that for a second! If criminals dealing with drugs and prostitution and used to running from the police every day still cannot get around the visa laws, what chance do you have?

How to make money when your too young for a job?

How to make money when your too young for a job?
Hi! Okay, so I'm 12 going on 13 and I'm very interested in anime conventions. I went to my first one, Anime Matsuri, and had alot of fun. I'd like to go to San Japan or Akon this year, but money is tight and I need to help pay for it. As you can see, I'm too young for a job. Things I can't do is sell stuff online, or do a lemonade stand. Please be creative, thanks! My talents are is that I can write and draw. I'm a way better author then I am an artist, I have won awards for my work, and I'm told I can write like an adult. But I can still draw pretty well :3

Can a 15 year old get a temporary job in Japan?

Can a 15 year old get a temporary job in Japan?
I'm going to Japan for only 3 months or so, and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make some kind of money there..? Something english..? D: I'd love to make money and go shopping there. My japanese is rather....limited. >>

It would be very difficult to get hired in Japan at that age. The best place you would be able to work would probably be at a convenience store or some some fast food places.
2 :
According to Japanese labor law, you must reach the age of 16 before the end of the fiscal year in order to legally work. In other words, your 16th birthday has to come before next March 31. And of course if you don't have Japanese citizenship, you can't legally work anyway. Since your Japanese is limited, a retail job or a service job isn't plausible. You could always wake up early in the morning and deliver the newspaper. Or you could do family chores and earn your allowance that way.
3 :
I don't think so. Japanese Junior high and even most of High school are not allowing students to have a part time job. Besides, you are only staying in Japan for 3 months with a tourist visa? A student visa? No one will be allowing you to work without working visa. If someone found out, you'll be in a big trouble. Perhaps, you should save money before you leave for Japan.
4 :
Maybe you could get someone to pay you to count the number of questions each week we receive from teenagers that ask the same questions about living and working in Japan. You need to be 18, you need a visa, you need to speak fluent Japanese.
5 :
You can get some illegal, dirty and cheap job if you are in Japan and soon will be in monkey house at ease.
6 :
I think it will be hard. Even native Japanese are hard to find a part time job when 15. I hope this doesn't discourage you from coming to Japan.

There is no licensing required for general type imports. Only if you start importing certain foods and or animals. However importing is not a get rich quick proposition. In order to import for resale, you will need to import in volume. That volume will require anywhere from 6 - 10 weeks to receive your merchandise as it will be coming by Ocean Freight. You will also need a good customs broker in your area that can readily clear your items through customs. Just as important as the customs broker in the US is the Freight forwarder who prepares your shipment and all the associated paper work. You will need to answer many questions first. Who will you buy from? are they trustworthy? What products will you buy? Are they sell-able? Who will you sell to? What about pricing? Storage? Sales distribution in the US. Many steps involved. But it does pay off in the long run.

Military does not boost Okinawa economy, the money from USA goes to Japan, all of Japan. Did you know?
Some people are upset with my posts and that's alright. Get facts right and please don't make blanket statements as if you are the final word on the subject. Leading people to beleive what you said is the way it is in the military, because it obviously is not. TOM I, the money goes to the central government of Japan, which Okinawa is a part of, did you know? The central government gives back some to Okinawa, not all of it. We the people are being taken for a ride with the way military spending is going on with housing allowances and other items connected to bases overseas. Okay, some people posted it is cost effective to pay for an entire family to move to another country and live there. Under the presents system allowing so much money to be paid, should say over pay, for housing that surpasses many home in the USA . How is that worked out and where are the figures that the public and look at. To show it costs less.

military members deserve to have their family go overseas with them when at all possible. how can you begrudge military members a little bit of happiness for protecting your country? who gives a f*ck about the cost when some americans lose their life which is an even greater cost.
2 :
I guess you must be Japanese, and a bit upset about having a conquering army still based in your country after so many years, but, they are there for a purpose, that is a front line defence against enemies of Japan, and America. Japan is a very important country in the world and it needs to be defended, and the soldiers and personnel spend a lot of money that goes directly into the pockets of local businesses, right, so Okinawa does benefit greatly from their presence. Actually, I found it hard to understand your question, because your English is not very good, please try harder to understand English, but most of all, please try to understand that complaining will only create bigger problems.
3 :
Actually the military on Okinawa does boost the economy . You left out all the local jobs created because the US military is there. The US military members don't stay on base all the time, they spend their money in Okinawa. Also there is the economic impact of all the Okinawans working on the US military bases. The Okinawans government estimates the economic impact of the US bases on Okinawa as 173.7 billion Yin annually. That's 50 billion from service member spending 70 billion for land use rent and 52 billion in salary from Okinawans working on US bases.
4 :
so the money made in japan should go to the japanese if the usa want a base there they should pay the japanese. why do americans think they should have bases all around the world for free. the brits have bases all around the world to but we have to pay for our bases so why dont you. and the money should not nessacely go to one place in japan either. it should be spread out as there are poorer places in japan that okinawa. so some of the money should go there. i think its time the usa and the brits moved there bases back home. and let the world sort themselves out. terry
5 :
Housing allowances always vary with the local economy. Of course they contribute to the local economy they have money and they buy things. Dad living one place and the family living in another. Why could that be more cost effective? Not to mention its not just housing dollars and cents. Life with out Dad means increased childcare costs, stress on Mom and kids,(stress also means more sickness) and there are kids abandonment issues that every military family faces. Not to mention the fact that a lot of times when Dad is away he is in a dangerous place, actually fighting. Now remember, the military is making flights there anyway many times families just go along space available. That goes for shipping crates too I believe. If its too expensive to go along Mom and kids often go home to be near grandparents. The highest concentration of people live on both coasts. Guess where the highest real estate prices are? If you are from say Indiana ,you don't pay near what the east coast or west coast people pay for housing. My grandmothers two bedroom house in a small Indiana town sold for $35,000 , the same house in Connecticut would be around $250,000 , in California it would be around half a million. (Makes me wish I had put it on a truck and brought it over!) But most importantly, military families are separated so often that they would never get time together if they did not move with Dad. If you really want to find out where the costs run up though check out what it cost to put a coffee maker in. Or sheet metal screws, or any thing because they can't just buy them anywhere nope the Democrats made sure that the government cant buy from manufacturers unless they meet an exhaustive list of criteria. How many of each race and sex are employed there are they union? It goes on down the hill to suppliers too. there's your drain hole . How about you let the people who are protecting our nations freedom have the comfort of have their families near when they can. and drop it
6 :
That sounds like an issue for the Okinawans/Japanese to fight over.
7 :
I think I have figured out a couple of solutions to your problems.... How about turning yourself in for illegally receiving US Military stations? Someone will remove it from your TV and you won't have to make anymore "assumptions" about what you are watching. OR You could join the military "again" and see how things really are today. According to you, its life on easy street so give it a try! OR You could do some real research and find out where our government money is really going, who it is being spent on, and where it is coming from. It would seem to me that since you are getting some pretty heavy opposition on this issue, maybe you are not as right as you think you are. Agree?

Is being a porn star in Japan considered to be a good/respected profession?
I'm just curious. I know in the United States if you do porn, your record is pretty much tainted. And if you tell someone thats how you make your money it's kind of looked down upon. Is it different in Japan? Is being a porn actress a respected profession/a good career? (not that its not a good career here) I guess what I'm asking is if you tell someone in Japan that you're in the adult industry will they say "ohh, good for you!"?

How realistic is it for him to move to Japan?

How realistic is it for him to move to Japan?
I am moving to Japan for 14 months on a foreign exchange program in which I pay an outrageous amount of money to live there and take language and culture immersion classes every day. Good deal, though I am way excited. My boyfriend of two years is Japanese too, and I am kind of thinking of asking him to come with me. He would live rent-free because my tuition covers on apartment, so how expensive would it be for him to live there? He is not 20 yet but he has dual-citizenship and his fluent. I am not familiar with the college system there.. would he be able to work on getting the equivalent of his AA or BA? And would he be able to make enough money with just a normal job to put himself through college & pay for food? I know that it is extremely expensive... but I also think it will be an incredible experience together. We are both 18.

Before I answer your questions, the first think you need to do is to confirm with your boyfriend that he is not forced and willing and ready to take the chance and risk to move to Japan with you for the next 14 months. Finding a job in Japan should be no problem for him and should be just enough to pay for food but definitely not the tuition fees. The BA or college degree there does not necessary equivalent to the BA or college degree in the U.S. It depends on the college or the university (Tokyo University should be good). You should confirm with the school first. Hope your boyfriend can make it.
2 :
If he is a Japanese citizen, then he has a registry. First, was he born in Japan or states? If he was born in states, then most likely, parents sent a birth certificate through the Jap. embassy/consulate to get him on their registry; which means, they know he has Am. citizenship. Don't make him use the Am. citizenship to register as Foreigner because then he's gonna need proof that he has a job or university entrance approval as well as other stuff. Safest thing to do is use Jap. citizenship. This'll make it much easier for him to find job. If the clerk asks if he is going to claim his Jap. citizenship, say "Yes". They're not gonna make him denounce his U.S. citizenship or anything (it's only verbal declaration). He can apply for a Jap. passport if he wants to. He's gonna need to know the address of his Legal Residence. He's also gonna have to register as a resident w/the City/Town Hall of where he'll be residing. In doing so, he's gonna have to submit info. regarding his legal residence (his parents should know). If he has relatives in Japan, ask if he can use them as a contact should anything happen. You're both 18, so you're both considered a minor; no drinking, no smoking and jobs will be limited (can't work in certain "night" places) Also, he's gonna automatically go under the social insurance which'll take care of his medical/dental/optical bills (pay 30% at hospital), but there is a yearly fee which is based on income. If his relatives are very nice people, he might want to ask if he can go under their household (check how much the yearly fee will be and if its cheaper for him to be alone, go with that) He might be able to find part-time work (its normal to have BA/BS or AA for regular companies), but school is another matter. Check to see if his school has some kind of exchange program with a Jap. college. thats the safest and hassle free way. Otherwise, he's gonna have to apply as a returning jap. local with schools that have this system (Sophia is famous but very expensive). Don't apply as regular Jap. cause then he's gonna have to take entrance exam tests (read and write in Jap) and pay huge amounts of money; plus, the school year starts in the spring. Also, the cheapest are National colleges (colleges sponsored by the country) and Prefectural colleges (prefecture sponsored) Tuition'll cost about $5,000 - $6,000 a year, but entrance is pretty strict and costs about $3,000 - $4,000 (place reservation fee). Tokyo University is one of the top universities, but think of it in the same rank as Harvard or other high-ranked schools. Transportation and food will also cost a bit; so, considering all the complexities, unless he can get his school funding covered, moving to Japan is pretty expensive and complicated.

Send it to obama! Snicker! Actually, consult with your tax accountant.

It is incredibly expensive to sort, clean, store, and ship donations of goods from thousands of miles away from a disaster. Also, the vast majority of items that do get pushed on organizations turn out to be unusable--the wrong clothing (fur coats got shipped to Haiti), culturally inappropriate (leather to India), or just in bad shape. Ditto for food. Money is the best donation. The Red Cross spends donated money in or near a disaster area, to purchase necessary supplies from local businesses. This means that these businesses can continue to pay their employees, who already affected by the disaster. Otherwise, they would lose their jobs on top of everything else that has happened. Donating money keeps people going in ways far beyond immediate supplies. The earthquake happened on a Friday. The Red Cross and other relief organizations already existed on Thursday, right? So before the disaster hit, they had offices in place to get information and coordinate their responses. Relief agencies need stuff independent of any specific disaster. Agencies need vehicles to get to disasters. These are usually vans and trucks. These need gas, oil, tires, inspection, maintenance, and insurance--all of which costs money. Agency offices need electricity, water, computers, Internet access, phones, phone service, printers, paper, toner--and people. People need to be paid living wages and have healthcare insurance in full-time jobs. (You want that, right?) All of that already had to be paid for, so when disasters occur, the agencies are ready. Without unrestricted donations not tied to any event, relief agencies cannot have any of these necessities--and can't respond as effectively as necessary.

How much does a hairdresser earn in Japan?

How much does a hairdresser earn in Japan?
I'm hoping to move to Japan soon (within the next couple years at least) and I wanted to know if it would be worth my time and money to go to a class on hairdressing before I leave. I plan on living in Tokyo and I've heard it's a rather expensive place to live and I just want to make sure I'll be making enough money to at least get my start there. Also would a hairdressing license earned in America even be valid in Japan?

1- You would have to find a salon willing to hire you to provide a work visa. 2- You would have to have rather fluent Japanese to do #1. 3- You're going to have a hard time with #1 because, well, the Japanese clients aren't necessarily going to feel comfortable with you. At least that is going to be the perception of any employer. 4- All of the above means that even finding a job will be difficult, which will have a very negative impact on your ability to make a living. 5- My niece, Japanese, won't be in competition for your job. She's into the make-up and hair styling business. No cutting. I told her when she went to school for this she would end up working at McDonalds. I was wrong. She now works at Krispy Kream doughnuts. 6- Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? Absolutely not.
2 :
>Also would a hairdressing license earned in America even be valid in Japan? No way. If you want to work as a hairdresser in Japan, you must go to its school for 2-3 years. Then take its national exam in Japan. If you passed it, you can work as a hairdresser. >How much does a hairdresser earn in Japan? About 3M yen for 1 year.
3 :
I don't think it will happen so easily as has already been pointed out. Learning Japanese is not so easy for an adult as it is for a child and getting a visa for a non shortage area is near on impossible. Do you have a plan B?

Should I donate money to Japan?

Should I donate money to Japan?
During times of crisis, I try to donate some money. Keep in mind I DONT have a job but I want to help regardless if somebody needs my help. Does Japan have enough funds to battle this crisis or should I donate some money? Japan looks like a rich country so it's making me hesitate to donate considering the people of Haiti probably needed it a lot more

raise awareness is probably the best way you can help at this very second use your facebook, twitter, or any social networking device... I think Japan with the help of the world can get past this crisis but theres somethings you can't restore. Like the lives of thousands of people either missing or dead
3 :
It doesn't matter if the country appears to be wealthier, the people are still suffering. And Japan us actually in a great deal of debt right now just like us. They're not any better off than, say, the people of New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina hit. Also, money is not the only thing you can donate. There is a variety of things you can send if you're short on money, you just have to ne creative. On top of everything else, I realize unemployment is tough, but the people in Japan are much worse off than yourself at the moment.
4 :
Donate. It doesn't even have to be that much. It may not seem like donating a few dollars will make a difference, but it will. Imagine if everyone just donated a few dollars. Lots of people will be donating money, they need it more than you do. These people have lost their families, their homes, everything. Even if Japan looks rich, they'll be spending TONS of money getting it back to the way it was and helping all those people who need the help. Please, just donate a few dollars. Maybe you could collect money from friends, family, and neighbors for a donation. Please donate.

How can i make money fast?

How can i make money fast?
Im trying to raise money to go to Japan... I know IT'S A LOT OF MONEY!!! But im only 13 and i really want to try to go. I have a pet sitting job, and i only work for two people. and one of them has stopped going to their location for a while, so im not working for them right now, and the other person barely goes on vacation. Are there any good ideas on how i can raise money for this? Btw, I live in Arizona. So please give me USEFUL information, and not just "oh thats nearly impossible, its to much work, your too young" blah blah blah. haha.. Thank You!!! P.S. Im trying to go next year, if that cant work for me then two years (2011) and i need around 5,000 dollars. Not really that much but NO MORE THAN THAT, im just aiming high. im not trying to raise that much, just roughly. THANK YOU!! (arigato) ~Stephanie

Konichiwa, Maybe you could make something and sell it? Where do you want to stay in Japan? Maybe you could find a Japanese family to live with through a reputable organization or a church. Ask you Japanese teacher, he/she may have some ideas. Don't listen to people who tell you that's nearly impossible.

Make babysitting flyers using the computer and put them in the library, people's mailboxes, and grocery stores. Drum up more business and keep a notebook to schedule when you do get a customer. Culver's minimum hiring age is 14 with a workers permit. I called many stores because I am 14 looking for a job. This was the response they gave which makes me happy after looking for so long. Find a local one go online and apply and go in store to apply or call and ask if they are hiring. What I did was Google a bunch of business near my home and found their numbers using Google maps or their sites and I called and directly asked if they are hiring and what age do they hire at. Try local grocery stores, pizza parlors, retail stores, fast food restaurants. Check out my blog. it has tons of money making ideas, saving tips, ways to score freebies , and discounts. the link is under my profile. You can create a blog too. You can generate money just ranting about your interests
3 :
Fill out surveys online. Companies who want to know what̢۪s on the minds of their customers are willing to pay for your opinion. Online surveys won̢۪t make you rich, and won̢۪t allow you to quit your day job, but you can make a little extra cash. When choosing between surveys, read the fine print. There is usually an asterisk near the "you won" part. This means you have to do something like buying stuff before you even get to talk about your prize. Don't fall into these sorts of traps, they're ridiculously difficult and not worth it. In general, the more companies you sign up with, the more survey requests you̢۪ll receive in your email and more opportunity you̢۪ll have to make money.

if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician?

if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician?
I've just talked with a friend of mine, he had just started to pursue a Solo carer , because he loves music very much, just like me, but unfortunately, and rather sadly, just this afternoon, he poured all his heart that , as I quoted from him, "being musician in indonesia is just f*ckin hard & doesn't make sense! it's just so dirty often, and hard to get recognized, and with piracy running rampant, greedy labels, very low purchasing-power from still-poor people in the mainstream, etc etc" , and he's even thinking of just concentrating in the business-aspect , not the artistic-side anymore in the music "industry". He's planning to just start a label & draw new artists,....instead of following his TRUE passion to become a full-time musician! so then, i start asking myself this: if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician ?? why? what do you think? do you think these people (musicians) are probably just 'naive' people who don't know that it's a cruel cruel world in a music, no, actually, music-business world. 'cuz often there're more to it than only making good & creative tunes. this i've unfortunately & pitifully learned at least in my corrupt country, Indonesia, where sadly, music is just another corrupt tool. and that's why no wonder a lot of musicians/bands are just poor, & even some really great/talented ones is lacking so much appreciations from mainstream people, instead, many people generally only prefer for 'stupid' songs/music as long with good looks, and many other artificial/fake things! and i'm sure the situation is no different even in advanced countries like U.S, Europe, Japan, etc. blatantly-and-honestly speaking, many people are just plain stupid, don't understand 'good music' from 'bad music' , and most big-players in the so-called "music-business" are all crooked and greedy, all they think is only money, not enhancing/supporting their artists/bands!! and plus, there're just soo many, and damn many competitions in this arena, it's like every week, there are like ten or even twenty bands being born (or more??) ! with all of these sad things above, i've recently often wondered & kept wondering, is there still any point for any person, no matter how talented or even multi-talented or passionate he/she is at music, to pursue career as a musician (and espcially, FULL-time musician) ? are they just out of their mind? but the Reality seems to speak differently: there are surprisingly an increasing amount of musicians (ie: bands, usually "indie" bands)! why is this? what is the reasons for they kept wanting to be a musician?

i only read your question, not your lengthy details... Real musicians don't care about money, they only care about their art.
2 :
I didnt read all that ¬.¬ but its there passion and they enjoy it so why not.
3 :
okay in all honesty i really can't read that much at the moment if i did i think my brain would explode. but to answer your overall question... when you love something you can't give it up and there are people willing to go to the end of the earth to get what they want, and those are the true dreamers, that will do everything and anything to get what they want in the world and those people are the successful ones.
4 :
if people really want to do something than they wont care about money
5 :
The people who truly care with all their heart about music don't care if they make money, they just want to make beautiful music for people to enjoy and some other people are just ignorant and think they can be like the people in the media
6 :
(I did read everything you wrote LOL) I'm actually an average teenager who also wants to become a musician(orchestral) and I do know that the music world/business is really difficult to succeed in. I have talked to my parents and my private music teacher about this and they do support me on the idea that I should become a musician, but they also reminded me that I should have another major in college, like business, and put music as my 2nd choice (something like that). But when I'm asked to what career I want, I still firmly say "musician" because I want to perform music to people to listen and enjoy. I think musicians decided to take this path because they have the passion in their heart (and the talent of course lols). They want to reach out to every-day people and inspire them. To remind them to take a pause in their lives and actually listen to music and enjoy the beauty.

It's a Dream. Some people work really hard at it. Some just get lucky and get discovered. You don't have to be famous to be a musician. In a lot of cases, loving your job and barely getting by is a whole lot better than hating your job and being successful. Some people just love it enough to have to do it. I've known people like that. For me, I'm content to just rock out with my friends, play live when we can, make records that will never really get any attention, keep it more informal (a hobby that I enjoy a great deal), but I've known people who... well it's just what they do.

Some people think musicians are dumb, and are just doing it because they couldn't succeed anywhere else. Not true. Musicians know what they're getting themselves into because it's tough from the very beginning. If they couldn't deal with it, they'd stop before they even finished writing their first song, so you know any musician who's made it big has pushed through a lot. It takes a long time to be able to pay for your life as a musician. Just because a band or an artist got a record deal does not mean they're rich. Musicians go into the music industry well aware of the risks, because it's what they love. They have a lot of passion and powerful ideas and want to share their work with the public. They searching for a connection, someone who can tell them they feel the same. And they love performing. It's all for the love of the craft. Ask any artist of any variety, and they'll all tell you life as an artist isn't easy. Not all musicians are looking for money. They know that's not always guaranteed. They just want to pursue what they love.

How do I make money with a blog that gets 20+ views a day?
My blog is starting to get 20+ views a day...Mostly from Japan and South Korea. It's an anime, video game, and computers/internet blog on Blogger and contains a little bit of adult content. I'm wondering what would be the best ways to make money off of it since I probably can't use AdSense due to the adult content...I already have an affiliate ad from a video game site that I made one sale with. The point is that my blog is growing in popularity and I want to start monetizing now...Even if I'll only be making pennies at first.

Try online surveys. Some you can do if you're over 14. Check out the one below I think yfou can join as long as your over 14. Dont forget to work out a budget for yourself so you can at least save some of that money for a large purchase ie car, holiday etc. I recommend the Budget Planner software from the site below - it's fast and easy to use and its FREE!

Try to see if you can get a waitressing job. The tips are great during the summer since you can work full time. For job searching don't rely too much on online sites. It's better to check the newspaper or actually go in to a place that looks like they need help. Are any of your friends artistic? Selling art online is also a great way to make cash.

If you're looking for a get-rich-quick business on-line then you're in for a surprise. Most sites that say that you can make money only make money off of you. The best way is to start an on-line business yourself but that takes work. You'll need to go to the small business administration and have a sit down with someone (it's free). They can help you write up a business plan if you need a loan from the bank. Choose items that you can sell on-line that are in high demand but don't cost too much. Get a seller's permit (it's usually free) and a fictitious business name filed (I paid $65.00). You'll probably have to put an add in the paper to announce your fictious name depending on your states laws (I paid another $65.00). Get a web domain from a site that doesn't charge you final value fees only monthly dues like godaddy.com or homestead.com (monthly it's only $25.00). With homestead you can accept credit cards and debit cards without a merchant account since you it accepts paypal payments and the customers don't even have to have a paypal account. You can even choose to have the payments in the form of money order or checks and have the customers mail them to you. With homestead making your website is easy (it took me two days to create and open my web-store). Then all you have to do is advertise your site. Google ad-words charges per click but you can set up an amount of dollars per day or month that you want to spend. Yahoo yellow pages let's you add your site address for free and even let's you make coupons for free that your customers can redeem at your site. Having a business is never easy and most people work very hard to make a lot of money on the internet. There are no get-rich-quick sites that don't involve work and money.

I use this site: http://zlio.com/?r=162139 Basically, you open an online shop (its free). All you have to do is set up your shop, which takes about 10 minutes, then you promote it. There's no ongoing costs and they pay into your paypal account.

The site I use pays you money for blogging, updating your profile, looking at pictures, and all your social interaction. It's just like MySpace and Facebook, only you get paid for using it. Here's the link if you want to give it a try: http://r.yuwie.com/eyesofantasy

I saw this video that shows how to make money doing field inspections. Something like a few hundred a day if you know what you are doing. Now, I cannot vouch for it, but is seems like a legit way to make money. Definitely not a get rich quick scheme but rather a long term income opportunity. Field Inspection Training http://youtube.com/watch?v=I44kpNAWTFM

check this website out. it pays when you open an advertisment. it pays more if you refer your friends here. although it's not a lot of money, over time, you'll have some extra pocket money to use. furthermore, it takes up max 5 min of your time daily.

No, they all work for free.

no they work for free
3 :
Not legally. Their treasury dept. makes the money. Photographers earn it.
4 :
Unfortunately, the japanese have desigated several industries as not receiving any compensation. Bakers Crane Operators Photographers Etc. Sorry for the bad news.
5 :
There is a need for photographers there just like there is anywhere else in the world. As for how much money they make, I don't know. I think you should come to Japan as a tourist, study the langauge and do some research. Good luck.
6 :
I think they work for free also is being a photographer awsome Im 14 and Im really into taking pics of anything that catches my eye
7 :
You would need to be able to read, write, and speak Japanese to do that.
8 :
dont have time for a long reply, but they do quite well. Every child, due to tradition gets their photo taken at aged 3, 7 etc. Plus school events and stuff, so every child in the photo will want a copy. I have a friend who has been running their store for many generations now, the current owner is like fifth generation. money bags Id think.

Even down in Kagoshima amateur photographers are a dime a dozen. If you want to be a pro, there is not much in terms of high profile work, but the private studio business is quite popular. As a foreigner, without an established name, it would really be difficult for you to break into the business. What kind of photography are you talking about? Portrait? Still? Nature? Art?
10 :
Learn Japanese first. Most of the ppl in the industry do not speak English.
11 :
yess they make A LOT of money in Japan. Visitors in Japan will buy it off you if it is good and it shows a little bit of Japan!

I am actually working in Japan as a product photographer though I have a background in fine art photography, and as far as money is concerned it is pretty much the same as if you were working in any large metropolitain area in the United States namely New York, LA, or the San Francisco bay area. Though I work freelance, I have friends who work in large studios doing product photography, mainly for Toyota and other auto manufacturers, and from what they say the work is stable and the pay is fair. Your pay of course is dependant upon what kind of skills you have. For example someone who is a specialist at photoshop(this depends on your skill and your speed) can make anywhere from around 12-25 an hour. If you are looking at working in a large studio then my suggestion is to learn to speak or at least listen to Japanese really well. If you have worked in a large studio before you know how communication is so critical, and if you are not familiar Japanese studio photographers can be quite short tempered and if things arent going right, they wont hesitate to hit you on the back of your head and yell at you. If you do decide to move here, then my suggestion is to move to Tokyo where there are a lot more jobs in the advertising and photography industry. The problem of course about working in Tokyo is that it costs quite a bit to live there, so plan on living in the outskirts and communting because lets be honest photography isnt exactly a career that one pursues for lots and lots of money.

How a teen can make money for a trip?

How a teen can make money for a trip?
I'm too young for a job, and i'm going on an approx. $4600.00 trip to Japan in April that i have to pay for myself. I need help to make money any suggestions are helpful! There's no one in my neighborhood to babysit, and yardwork is a no-no. I've already asked my parents if they'll pay me to do extra chores around the house, and i already get an allowance (not that it'll help). I make stuff and sell it (art) and i'm probably going to sell my old stuff either on eBay or in a garage sale. Please, no lemonade stands AND NO ONLINE SURVEYS. I'm too young for a job - legally. My parents said 'they'd think about it' when i asked if theyd pay me to do extra chores. yardwork is a 'no-no' because it rains all the time, and when it isnt raining, its suuuper hot outside.

play guitar or some instrument on a busy street corner with a case or hat for collecting money.
2 :
Why are you too young for a job? What did your parents say when you asked if they'll pay you to do extra chores? Why is yardwork a "no-no"? It seems to me you're looking for an excuse as to why you can't work. Your question shows you have a pretty good idea of the options available. If you're sincere about wanting to make enough money to fund the trip, you'll find a way.

If there's a will, there's a way, you definately have the determination and have put some serious thought into this, just remember you can do it! I'm saving up for my trip right now, I got a job at a kitchen working dishwasher! Its good money and as long as you can put away dishes, be organized and effiecient, there's no age restrictions. Theres plenty of others too! Just screw what people think, even if you have to work at macdonalds, save up for the trip, life is all about experiences. Make sure to send resumes out everywhere. Just don't let your work get in the way of school, if you dont save up enough, I'm sure there will be more eventually, keep your head up kid, your young you got your whole life to live, live it to the fullest, its good setting goals. Now go do it! I believe in you! ps, along the way there might be some tough times and some roadblocks, ie parents, co-workers, friends. Remember just stay positive and dont listen to what other people say. Good luck!!! Mike.
