How can our school make money for Japan?
How can our school make money for Japan?
I want our school to raise money for Japan, but I don't know what to do. I was going to have all the kids bring in stuff that they didn't use, and have like a "School Garage Sale" and sell everything for like $2.00. But then I realized, I don't know if it would work because a lot of people might not want to buy bad things. Any other ideas that our school can do? P.S. Our school has a bake sale like every week for a different cause, so I want something new. :) Thanks Also, what are your thoughts on my idea? Do you think it will work?

Put on a concert and have celebrities donate there tallent to rase money. You can get that going.

you can do loads of things school dance maybe $10 a ticket go around the cafeteria with a cup to put coins in and ask for donation (it doesnt get much but it gets something my school does this all the time) set up a bunch of games or something in the gym and either charge however much money is worth the stuff you have for entry or allow free and charge like maybe $5 to play the games selling everyone's old junk actually isnt a bad idea some people like that stuff you could even have a car wash if you don't like these ideas i'm sure if you just look up how to raise money on google you'll get hundreds of results.

Can I make money vlogging in Japan?
I'm going to Japan when I graduate from college. I plan to stay there as long as possible (until get deported or forever if i can get citizenship), but I'm still learning to speak Japanese and I can barely write/read Japanese. I know I won't be able to get a real job because of my bad Japanese so I was thinking of doing a daily vlog and posting it on youtube. I know all the popular vloggers make a 6 figure income, but is it possible for me to make enough money to live just starting out as a vlogger?

If you are not Japanese looking there is a very high chance of police officers asking you for your ID (either your passport or your alien registration card). If you're there illegally (past 90 days straight on a tourist visa and without a different visa) you will be deported and barred from the country for a long period of time. That aside, it will be very tough but never give up on your dreams :)

depends on many things. Just like here it will depend on the school district. In the south bronx you make 30,000 year, in westchester makes 70K+, Also besides the differences in public schools salaries there are different types of schools in Japan. As I assume you are a westerner, you may be interested in working at a private language institute. These are not really schools and most people working there are not really teachers. It is what it is and i won't knock it too much. The pay here is decent for asia, 1,800 to 2,500 USD per month at a guess. In a large city like tokyo, the money will just get you by. Small one bedroom or studio, some pocket money and that's about it. It's some of the best money in Asia but also the highest cost of living. Last I heard South Korea paid foriegn teachers the best in asia followed by japan. Thailand is 900$ month for foriegners and they are the bottom so, japan has to be at least 1,500. You can check daves esl cafe for exact opportunities. From my understanding, Japanese teachers make about the same or more than us foriegners. In some countries we get paid a lot compared to locals but I think in Japan we're about even if not treated as inferior.

not as a teacher but as a tutor for college students in Japan. I heard you don't have to be a good teacher you just have to be good in conversations with Japanese College students. I was unaware of the fees you can earn but it would be enough to pay for your college tuition in Japan. I am a male native english speaker with partial Japanese descent minoring in Japanese Language which is plus points but how much can I make?

I think you heard wrong. No way can you make enough money teaching English to cover college tuition costs ! Students can only work part time. Regular English teachers average 250,000 yen a month.

Carl, you are misinformed... With a student visa, you can only work 28 hours a week. The visa will not allow you to work your first two months, so I tutor highschool students under the radar. I'm currently enrolled in a Japanese language school in Akihabara, I'm living in an apartment with 3 other people, and my rent is about 500$ a month. With my tutoring job, I pull in about 300yen/hr. Now I'm also working in a butler cafe, which pays really well. I just gotta make the customers feel like a princess. So you can definitely make enough to support yourself, and go to a university, as long as its not 早稲田. Oh, and I'm only 17, so If I can do it, you can do it.

i just say the ps vita and it costs like 25,000 japanese money compared to like 250 us dollars. why is it so much in japan?

I dont know how much people make, but 25000 yen (japanese money) is pretty much the same as 250 USD. 100 yen is equal to about $1 CAD or USD but the rates change and i think it's somewhere in the 80s now :P so maybe 80 yen per dollar

The average monthly net income for a single individual is 180,000 Yen or $2,243. It is hard to live in Tokyo with that amount,though.
