Should I move to Japan? What do you think the benefits are?
So I want to move to Japan next year to work and live for a little while. I want to make some money while at the same time learn Japanese. The question is do teachers get good pay in Japan at the elementary level? I won't be paying rent as it is gvt sponsored but i think I will be responsibel for all other expenses. Will it be worth it?

Are you black? Japanese people are very racist towards blacks. You will certainly have trouble finding a job. The pay is certainly better there! The prejudice and discrimination doesn't make up for it though

It may be hard for you, unless your willing to go through some of the hardships that there are with moving to another country with a completely different language and culture. And Japanese is one of the tougher languages to learn, and they are less welcoming to outsiders, but if you want the experience, it doesn't hurt to try you could always come back.

The cost of living in japan is not low, depending on what kind of salary you can get. My teacher back in asia, a japanese, told us a story. A black american woman tried to look for a waitress job while she was in japan. She called a resturant, the owner gave her the job immediately over the phone because he thought that she was an american and could speak american english perfectly. The day when she repored to work, the owner found that she was not a white, then, he decided to arrange her to work in the kitchen to clean dishes. Japanese is racist. They look at white americans as their idols, but not if you are of other races. I had studied in japan and had a native japanese boyfriend before. My best friend is a japanese. I know quite a lot about japanese people and their culture.
