Does Satoru.Japan, modeling agency, charge big money to make portfolios or are they on the up & up for hiring?
Some "modeling agencies" are in the business of charging big money for creating portfolios but promises to find work for models are not real. Their business is really only making money on portfolios- a kind of scam.

The only way to know is to go. If they ask you for money for a portfolio, then walk out. A legitimate agency shouldn't be producing your portfolio or requiring you to use one specific photographer. They also don't do a portfolio until AFTER you have signed a contract. A legitimate agency should give you a list of recommended photographers and you are free to use the one of your choice

Women in America make 80 cents to the mans dollar so I was wondering if women in Japan also get paid less than men.

I do not have a numerical data, however maybe No in average, because the rate of part-timer in women is more than in men and women get time with their children rather than money. The Japanese prekindergarten for infants ( ~age2 or 3) are very expensive and always full. In the most case, one of the couple has to take care of their children. It causes to resign for women. Add them, the stagnation of economy make it difficult to get job again in this 10 years or more.

Would getting a transfer to Japan for a job make me more money than getting a job directly in Japan?
Would getting a transfer to Japan for a job make me more money than getting a job directly in Japan?
Would I be able to make more money by getting a job here in Canada and possibly getting a transfer, or would I make more by getting a job directly in Japan? Or does it even matter? Please don't tell me how I need a visa or anything like that. Just answer my question with a little detail. Please don't get sidetracked! Thank you.

In short, yes a transfer is better for more reasons than pay. I was transferred from my office in the USA to Japan. I was given support for finding a house, setting up my bank account, and establishing residency. I was assigned a person from a company that specializes in expat relocation. Also, in terms of pay, my US based pay was adjusted to reflect the change in taxes, cost of living and Holiday benefits. For transfer purposes, I was given 2 months extra pay, one on the US side and another extra month when I arrived in Japan to cover the numerous un expected moving costs. The company also, arranged for all of my belongings to be shipped by sea and air. They arranged all the taxes and import procedures.

Forget the visa hassle -- I've never heard of a company that transfers an employee overseas and not do the visa and paperwork for them For the same kinds of work, a Japanese hire is paid less than someone sent to work in Japan on an oversea assignment. As a transferee, you get several bonus from living cost adjustments, tax advantages, housing support, and even in some cases per diem on top of your salary. If you get an opportunity, don't pass it up and this does not apply only to work in Japan. Jobs abroad to any country is a big bonus. The only possible negative is that if you have children and wanted to enroll them in certain schools for ex-pats. Depending on where you want them enrolled, it could get expensive.

i have a ski instructors licence and am a dude with blue eyes and blonde hair, when I went to Japan people seemed to think i'm a good or something.

How would I make money off of borrowing money from Japan and investing in another country with high interest?
I have a relative in Japan. His mother-in-law wanted to sell a couple of her homes and put the money in bank accounts that have higher interest rates abroad. Is this legal? and how should she go about it? Which country would be ideal to invest in? Indonesia? Philippines? Malaysia?

That would depend upon Japanese law, a subject of which I have no knowledge whatsoever. However, one guideline is pretty much universal: The higher the rate of return, the higher the risk involved.

Sure it's legal. However (and this is important), your return on investment must take into account BOTH the interest on the investment and the exchange rate between the two countries. If you are in Japan and want to invest in the US, you first have to exchange yen for dollars at the current exchange rate, then invest the dollars. Eventually, you will have to convert the dollars (principal and interest) back into yen at whatever the exchange rate is at the time you convert back. You would earn the higher interest rate, but you could either lose or make money on the exchange of currencies.
