I have no objection to giving to a good cause. How could someone help and it not be a poor gamble that it actually goes toward its intended cause.

you can't that is why so many people don't donate to relief funds....some a**hole is getting rich off the money.
2 :
If you give to the Red Cross it will get put towards buying supplies etc and will not even go anywhere near government hands.
3 :
Because if it doesn't the japanese have a comparatively sophisticated justice system and those responsible will be held accountable.
4 :
the japanese gov and their people are very resiliant and does not need our help in any way. dont waste your money. i am extremely proud of these people. i wish the usa could be more like them
5 :
the Red Cross are as corrupt as ANY other charitable organisation where LARGE volumes of cash just goes ' missing ' it happens everywhere in the world because human nature is basically shite and that's the bottom line...
6 :
With or without aid Japan will recover and be stronger than ever. The Japanese learn from disaster and will come up with safer architectural designs and better technology that will limit damages and save lives in preparation for future disasters. It is possible that the whole civilized world could benefit in the long run from their experience. Haiti is was and always will be a run down shitland. The earthquake was basically like putting dog turd in a blender. The majority of what the blacks have/had was built 200 years ago by the French. The blacks lived off of what was already built and stripped down the country for what ever cash was available. No different than any inner city in the U.S.. The blacks built nothing, repaired nothing and just destroyed what ever was left for them. Haiti's biggest natural disaster was not an earthquake but an infestation of black parasites. Black societies are completely useless and serve no benefit to mankind. I would rather flush my money down the toilet than donate to Haiti.

Today, you would like to give money to the Japan earthquake relief, and that is a good thing. If you do that, good on you. HOWEVER--if, next week, the home next to you burns down, the Red Cross CANNOT use your donation to help that family. Why? Because you specified that your donation had to go to Japan. Also--the earthquake happened on a Friday. The Red Cross and other relief organizations already existed on Thursday, right? So before the disaster hit, they had offices in place to get information and coordinate their responses. Relief agencies need stuff independent of any specific disaster. Agencies need vehicles to get to disasters. These are usually vans and trucks. These need gas, oil, tires, inspection, maintenance, and insurance--all of which costs money. Agency offices need electricity, water, computers, Internet access, phones, phone service, printers, paper, toner--and people. People need to be paid living wages and have healthcare insurance in full-time jobs. (You want that, right?) All of that already had to be paid for, so when disasters occur, the agencies are ready. Without unrestricted donations not tied to any event, relief agencies cannot have any of these necessities--and can't respond as effectively as necessary.

What is a good fundraiser idea to make money?

What is a good fundraiser idea to make money?
It's just me and a friend and we are looking to make another trip to Japan this summer. I have a job that only pays minimum wage and I need to make a phone payment once and month and pay for gas. We need to make at least $2500 before May of next year. We have plenty of time as of now we just need good ideas with good profits. All answers and input are greatly appreciated! Thanks

The best thing I can think of for you is to go around frequently to your family members, teachers, other students, friends, neighbors and so on and collect as many used cell phones and ipods as possible and then visit: http://www.cellitused.com and sell the phones to this company. I think they even buy broken phones and ipods as well. If you send them phones every couple weeks then you can probably make $500 + a month, depending on how many you send them. It also looks good because you are trying to help the environment as well (good selling point when you are asking people for thier old phones). Most people just throw their used cell phones in a closet, drawer, or trash anyways. I hope this helps. Good luck with your trip to Japan.

Google "fund raising ideas" and "school fund raising ideas" and you will find loads of ideas. There is bound to be one there that appeals to you. Good luck !!

How much more money could I make working as a Master at Arms in the Navy overseas?

How much more money could I make working as a Master at Arms in the Navy overseas?
I hear that much more money can be made in the military working overseas. I'm getting ready to do part-time reserve. But, If this is true I would consider switching to full-time reserve working at a base in Japan or some other country. Trying to make more money than I'm getting now for my family.

I don't believe you make more money for being overseas, however, you should ask your recruiter.
2 :
Your base pay and special pays are generally the same no matter where you are assigned. This is based on your rank and time in service. Any extra money you make for serving in Japan will be to cover the high cost of living to include housing. So that any money you make, you will need to pay those bills.
3 :
You get the same amount as a Gunner's Mate in the Navy overseas. The same amount as a Machinist's Mate in the Navy overseas. And the same as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy overseas. The amount you make is not based on the job you do, but on the pay grade, time in service, and other incentives (hazard duty, sea duty, etc.).
4 :
not how it works. one there are no full time Reserve spots OCONUS for first termers. if indeed there are any at all. and no you do NOT make any more money OCONUS. in fact you may end up losing money. for instance.. OHA is the exact amount of rent up to your ceiling overseas. BAH is a flat rate, and if you find someplace under that you get to pocket the difference. sure you get COLA overseas, but the CoL is also much higher. milk runs $7 a gallon in Hawai'i. Fresh fruits and veggies in Japan tend to be about 3 times more expensive. what you are most likely hearing about is DEPLOYMENTS. while deployed, you base pay is federal tax free. you also get paid a few extra allowances such as Family Sep and Hostile fire pay.. leading to a possible increase of $500 or more net increase in income. In exchange, you get shot at, have to live in desert heat and mountain cold, and generally do not get any down time at all for 6 months running.
5 :
Just because someone is "deployed" DOES NOT MEAN that their pay is tax free. You can damn sure be "deployed" to somewhere other than a tax exclusion zone.

Why did Japan make gambling illegal, when they gamble more then most countries?

Why did Japan make gambling illegal, when they gamble more then most countries?
This doesn't make sense to me because they have pachinko, which I guess is a loophole to gambling. They just get their metal balls and exchange it for money which is the exact same concept as gambling. These things are like mcdonalds in Japan, and Japan probaby gambles more then any other country ( in exception to America ). So why does Japan even bother making gambling illegal when its already huge there.

They probably just put up a show for others to see that the government is doing something
2 :
The fact that there are so many gambling addicts there is precisly why.
3 :
I think you just answered your own question. If gambling is a bigger problem in Japan than it is in other countries, the government has increased impetus to do something about it. And make no mistake, gambling is a problem. It's more detrimental to the fabric of society than crime and drug use combined...

How much money do wrestlers make? TNA, indies?

How much money do wrestlers make? TNA, indies?
Okay, I'm pretty much well informed on the money that the WWE wrestlers make but I'm really curious about the TNA and the indies? Where else is there money to make? Japan? Mexico? Is it decent at least? I heard that indies don't pay squat. How about ROH? How much do WWE wrestlers make all things considered, downside guarantee, expenses, match bonuses, PPV bonuses etc?

I think TNA tops out at 500,000 a year ,But that's only working 4 days a month WWE1,500,000-2,000,000 but that's 25 days a month so if you broke it into a daily salary the TNA guys get more
5 :
In TNA wrestlers only make around $300,000-$800,000 a year
6 :
Well listen we all know that TNA is no where near the franchise that WWE is today but as we all know TNA beats ECW's ratings by a couple points. Tna as we all know it in a gorwing process, it's sort of like something between WCW and WWF. They got the attitude and the old dudes. Thjere pay is definetely lower than what WWE Superstars get paid. Kurt Angle definetely gets payed atleast 1 million a year. That's all i know, sorry if I couldn't help..
7 :
TNA-they max out at 500,000 WWE-they max out at 1,500,000 ROH-they max out at 200,000 Japan-i heard the most any japanese wrestler made was 100,000 Mexico-very poorly hope i helped
8 :
wwe: alot of money where they can pay there bills, and feed their familys tna: their profit is kept a secret indies: IDK
9 :
i know the indys you only make money if you are a household name or legend in wrestling and will make more like that, say like a few thousand in the indys. tna no way do they make 300-800k, got to be less than that. wwe superstars make from 300k-1mill at least depending your position in the buisness, some wrestlers actually have flights paid for them.
