With babysitting out of the question, and you unable to get paid for chores around your house, why don't you try chores for someone else? I remember years ago when I was growing up, kids your age would "make a business" doing chores for other people. It could be mowing their lawn, or washing their car or some other such choir like raking leaves. The other common one was delivering news papers. Or offer to help a neighbor with some project they have been meaning to get to...like if the person next door plans on cleaning out their garage, ask if you can help them for a few bucks. Many of these things don't require any "prep" time (such as lemonade stands). I'm in an isolated location (no neighbors), and I can say I would love it if some teenager came over and offered to wash my car (with everything else I never have time to get to it).

I just see a slight problem with your intentions to listen to an Ipord and head off to Japan while your family is sinking in debt and financial / legal trouble. Maybe it's just me but you should look at your priorities. For money ideas, get to the library and check out "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew. There are alot of teens who have profitable businesses but they obtained them with realistic goals and hard work. You can too. It's important to focus on your needs before your wants.

Organize neighbors' garages for $10 apiece. Once they see how hard you work, they will hire you for other jobs. When you turn 14 you can caddy at the local golf course. You go home with money in your pocket every day.
